From my heart to yours.....
Dear Sisters, After watching the interview last night with Prince Harry and Meghan, I had so many feelings. I realized that her pain is recognized by most women. I thought of all the women that I know who still had to show up in pain. I thought of all women whose voice had been silenced by others. I thought about all women who needed help and never received it or those women who are even afraid to ask for help. As women, we carry so much in our heart and soul. Some of us have been judged based on the color our skin. It’s hurts because it’s not always others, but sometimes it’s our race. No matter the color of your melanin, always remember that you are beautiful. If you need help, don’t be afraid of ask for it. You don’t gain anything by being the strong one. You don’t gain anything by suffering in silence. God is with you, I am here, your sisters in Christ are here and therapy is available to all who seek it. Don’t ever feel like you have to have it all together. Don’t ever feel like you will get the prize for always presenting yourself as being put together. Even the woman you admire has struggled or is struggling. You don’t have to journey through life alone. Don’t allow others to silence your voice. For some of us, it’s so easy to be quiet and say we are never affected by what others say and the treatment of others towards us. Words do hurt! Your voice matters. The words that you have to say are important and matters. Never be intimated by those who sit in the room with you. It never hurts to ask questions, if you don’t understand. Never be afraid to use your voice to stand up for yourself. My sister and friend, you are valued; you are important; your voice matters; you are beautiful; your melanin is beautiful; you are resilient and you are simply amazing and so much more. Don’t think you have to have it all together every time you show up. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to cry, it’s okay to scream; it’s okay to share your broken and hurting heart; it’s okay to sit and never say a word. My sister, I always say sometimes you need a listening ear, a hand to hold or a shoulder to cry on. However, if you are any of those things to your sister keep what she shares with you in confidence. The world has hurt her enough, she doesn’t need her sister to do the same thing. I pray that your day has been absolutely amazing. I pray that God will bless you and keep. I pray that your desires will align with God’s desires for your life. I pray that you enjoy the life you live. I pray that you will realize you are enough. I pray that you will always know that you are worthy to be loved. I pray that when times are hard, you would encourage yourself in the Lord and reaffirm who God says that you are according to the scriptures. My sister and my friend, you are phenomenal! There will never be another you! Embrace your womanhood and the journey! You are special and you are loved! Happy International Women’s Day! If no one else is cheering for you, believe that I am! I am so proud of the woman you are and the woman that’s still evolving! Have an amazing week and always remember that you are loved! Lady T
